Hi, I'm Kelly, a multiple, invisibly disabled proud, fat, Registered Psychotherapist. This is language I choose to use to personally reclaim, in a non weight-stigmatizing way, my body. And, it has taken time and a lot of unlearning and re-learning liberatory information to have this level of self-acceptance. And I work at it every day.
15 years ago I earned a degree in Fine Arts, Psychology and Education. Later in life I finished and internship in Intuitive Herbalism (plant spirit medicine) and am an advocate for the medical and spiritual use of psychedelics. I have trained in and am practiced in psychedelic assisted psychotherapy and also offer psychedelic consults in a harm reduction manner. I most often employ self-compassion, applied attachment theory, nature therapy and IFS methodology in sessions. At its very root I believe that IFS is a therapeutic model based in self-compassion. The parts of you that you may not like may in time be parts you appreciate and have deep compassion for. At home on, my off days you will find me snugging or playing with my rescue dog and enjoying a mostly vegan (spiritual = not diet-y) home, while lazy gardening and going to the lake to cool down with my pooch when needed. I love swimming and truly believe all bodies are beach bodies. |
